Women of Valour: From a 1,200 Target to 3,550 Registrations
How planning, marketing, creative content and media outreach supported Women of Valour, an annual event founded by Nana Aba Anamoah, which recorded 3,550 registrations for 2023 against a target of 1,200.
Women of Valour recorded 3,550 registrations for its 2023 event against an initial target of 1,200. PR369 has served as project lead and supported the marketing strategy for the event since 2023, covering event planning and coordination, strategic marketing, creative design and content, and PR and media outreach. This case study sets out what the work involved and what the results can and cannot tell us.
The event
Women of Valour was founded by Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah to celebrate the strength and accomplishments of women while fostering meaningful discussion on gender equality and leadership. It is held annually as a precursor to International Women's Day in March and brings together speakers and thought leaders to inspire women across sectors. It has grown to editions from Accra to Paris and London.
PR369's role

Results
| Measure | Result |
|---|---|
| Registrations, 2023 event | 3,550, against a target of 1,200 |
| Organic impressions across platforms | More than 2 million |
| Hashtag performance | #WomenOfValour trending in the top five on key event days |
| 2024 creative content | Sustained engagement from December through March |
What the results show
The registration figure is the most meaningful result because it matches the event's objective and was measured against an explicit target. Impressions and trending show how widely the event was seen and discussed.
What the results do not show is which single channel caused each registration. Social media, media appearances, the founder's profile and word of mouth all worked together. We report the outcome against the target rather than claiming credit for any one tactic.
Lessons for other organisers
- Set an explicit target so results can be judged honestly. See how to set campaign objectives you can actually measure.
- Combine channels with clear roles: social media, broadcast media and community networks.
- Start content early and sustain it in the months before the event. See how to repurpose one piece of content across channels.
- Plan for success: high registration requires planning for capacity, arrival and attendance. See how to improve attendance after people register for your event.
